Only order what you need

Encouraging patients to only order what they need when ordering their medicines.

Last year, an estimated £20 million worth of medicines went unused across the North East and North Cumbria—money that could have been reinvested into patient care and vital NHS services. This campaign aims to encourage people to ‘only order what you need’ when requesting medicines with a few simple steps:

  • Checking cupboards before ordering your prescriptions.
  • Only order what’s needed — avoid stockpiling medicines.
  • Check your prescription when you collect from your pharmacy, and hand back what you don’t need
